Obama & Cheney (from Fox News story via AP)
You can read the full story at this link and here is my quote from the story –
Scott Stanzel, former deputy press secretary to Bush, said Cheney will probably never be convinced to run for president.
“I don’t believe that Dick Cheney has any desire to run for office again and I take him at his word,” Stanzel said, adding that he’s “very influential” in the role he’s already in.
“There are a lot of people out there who feel strongly about his service, but that’s not to say they are advocating for him to run for president,” he said. “I do not think his desire is to define the Republican Party. … He is almost solely focused on defending the policies of the Bush administration.”
Also, POLITICO posed the question in today’s Arena discussion – “Is Obama moving to the center?” They question is based on former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan’s Wall Street Journal piece, “Obama Moves Toward Center Stage.” I recorded a video response for the Arena. As a follow-up to my post, YouTube vs. Facebook – WMV Upload Audio Quality from last week, I recorded today’s video using the Dell Webcam Manager software. The file type that I selected was avi, which created a very large file. I used WinXMedia Video Converter to convert the avi file to mpeg 4. This seems to have solved the audio delay problem on YouTube, but the video quality is pretty diminished. I’ll continue testing.

Obama has no desire to move to the center. That’s not who he is, what he believes – he’s a far left guy. If the GOP is able to take back any type of majority in either house come 2010 it will be interesting to see if he still takes that hard left line or not. I don’t think he cares about winning a 2nd term as much as he cares about ‘radically transforming America’ – his own words from the campaign.
